The Etoniah Creek State Forest Green Camp are located within the Etoniah Creek State Forest (Putnam County), about 10 minutes east of Florahome, FL. This camp has the following facilities: a vault toilet, and no electricity or water. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, hunting, horseback riding, picnicking, birding, wildlife viewing, and photography.
Etoniah Creek State Forest has over 8,000 acres of woodlands, lakes and creeks. George's Lake is 819 acres with over 400 feet of lake frontage on the forest. Three shallow creeks (Falling Branch Creek, Etonia Creek, and Rice Creek) meander through floodplain swamps and bottomland hardwoods. Etoniah Creek State Forest has a campground, day-use areas and recreational trails that offer a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, nature study, birding, wildlife viewing, hunting, horseback riding, photography and wildflower viewing. This forest is part of the Florida National Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. The Palatka-To-Lake Butler State Trail (a paved, multi-use recreational trail) crosses the south side of the forest.
Four miles of the Florida National Scenic Trail also pass through the forest.
Ravine Gardens State Park is 15 miles east of the forest in Palatka.
